On September 21, 2009 the World health organization released its handbook on Indoor radon, which was the culmination of several years of consensus building including 35 participating countries. One of the most notable aspect of the recommendations was a 100 becquerrel per cubic (2.7 pCi/L) reference level. But that was not the only interesting aspect of the new guidance.
On September 21, 2009 as part of the plenary session of the National Radon Training Conference, Dr. Bill Field presented a synopsis of the new guidance. With permission from Dr. Field along with him graciously providing a copy of his slides, we were able to synchronize an audio recording that was made in the lecture hall during his talk. Although the sound quality may not be up to our standards, the importance of the message is so great that we both wanted to share it with the radon industry.
